Mao Women Hoho Dimapur (MWHD) celebrated its silver jubilee on January 23 at Angami Youth Hall, Kuba ‘B’ (Nagarjan).
The celebration was graced by Lucy Kumou, a founding member of MWHD, as chief guest and St. Joseph College, Jakhama, vice principal, Dr. Rev. Sr. Kaisa Rosalind as the main speaker.
The chief guest in her address congratulated MWHD for reaching the 25-year milestone and recalled the formative years of the Hoho.
Lucy urged Mao women to be example to others both in acts and deeds. She also advised that one should not criticize others who do not reach up to one’s expectations but be ready to guide them.
St. Joseph College Jakhama, vice principal, Dr. Rev. Sr. Kaisa Rosalind, dwelt on the theme of the silver jubilee celebration “Women and modernization”.
She spoke about the progress of women in various fields around the world, women entrepreneurship and the success rate of women in every field.
Sr. Rosalind also highlighted the various reservation given by the government to women and said that it was high time for women to demand their rightful place in society.
Others who spoke included representative from the Mao Council, L. Adani, president Mao Hoho Nagaland, A. Daili, president Mao Hoho Dimapur, K Lokho and president Mao Women Welfare, P. Lolia.
