NAA celebrates 4th National Javelin Day in honor of Neeraj’s Olympic victory

DIMAPUR, AUG 7 (NPN)

The Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA), under the aegis of the Athletics Federation of India, marked the 4th National Javelin Day on 7th August 2025 at Pilgrim Higher Secondary School, Dimapur. The event was held to honor the remarkable achievement of Neeraj Chopra, who secured a Gold Medal for India at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The day was commemorated with a spirited Javelin Throw competition, which featured participants from the U-14 and U-16 age groups for both Boys and Girls. A total of 50 athletes took part in the event, showcasing their talent and passion for the sport.
In the U-14 Boys category, Isuka Awomi clinched the first position, while Tunavi S Zhimomi and Ilopu K Khujumi secured second and third places, respectively. In the U-14 Girls category, Lhingdeihoi Lhingde emerged victorious, with Tilu Pojar and Kensosha Kensosha finishing second and third, respectively.
The U-16 Boys category saw Atoki Swu claim the top spot, followed by Tovi S Chopy in second and Tsungroshan Kithan in third. In the U-16 Girls category, Afili Yeptho triumphed in first place, while Veideikim Hangsing and Leona P Yeptho earned second and third positions, respectively.
