NAAC Peer Team evaluating DGC

A three-member National Assessment and Accreditation Council(NAAC) peer  team arrived Dimapur on October 28 and have been holding a series of meetings with the principal, faculty, staff and members of the Internal Quality Assessment Committee(IQAC) and other board members to evaluate Accreditation of Dimapur Government College.
The three-member peer team is led by chairperson Dr.S.N.Yadav former VC of APS University and  member-coordinator Prof.Srinivas Reddy M head of department of Management Studies, Sri Venkateshwara University and member Prof.Suresh M.Cholke  former principal Shri Sangameshwar Arts & Commerce College, Chadchari, Karnataka.
 The Peer Team held interaction with  Parliamentary Secretary Higher & Technical Education Deo Nukhu, Secretary(H&TE) Imjung Panger IAS, Director (H&TE) Mrs. Chubatula Longkumer, OSD(H&TE) Atula B.Aier , state consultant (NAAC)Megono , IQAC members of DGC – Geoffrey Yaden and Basu Damani, DGC principal Kuholi Chishi and other faculty members. 
During the interaction, Dr.S.N.Yadav urged upon the DGC to start PG courses in the college as it had the required faculty, who he said, were willing to do so. Despite higher cut off and reduced intake, classrooms were overcrowded with an average of 150 students in each class. This issue including other requirements of the college were  taken up by Parliamentary Secretary Deo Nukhu.The Peer Team advised the DGC to approach UGC as it has enough fund for infrastructure etc.
IQAC  member Geoffrey Yaden, drew the attention of the Peer Team  to consider the genuine needs of the college which has been on the upswing under the able leadership of the principal Kuholi Chishi and a dedicated team.
Another IQAC member Basu Damani also chipped in about the complete turnaround of the college.
