NAAC team visits SJU (A) for 4th cycle accreditation

National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Team visited St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama for its fourth cycle accreditation on July 30 -31, 2024. It may be noted that the NAAC peer team visited the college in 2005, 2011 and 2016. The college became autonomous in 2018.


The three-member team included Prof. S. N. Chaudhary, Rajiv Gandhi Professor at Barkatullah University, Bhopal as chairman, Prof. Amit Singh, Dean, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow as member co-ordinator and Dr. Vighneshwar Yalamali, KLE Society’s Raja Lakhamagouda Science Institute, Karnataka as member. The team was received at the portico of the Arts Block, where NCC Cadets of SJC (A) offered them guard of honour.


Fr. Dr. George Keduolhou Angami, principal, St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama introduced and presented the NAAC Peer Team members. At the meeting, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) by select departments presented their activities. The peer team also interacted with parents, alumni, faculty members and non-teaching staff of the college.


Prof. S.N Chaudhary, chairman of the Team emphasised on holding more collective activities like the folk dances and folk songs sung in unison, in institutions to bring about more tolerance and patience in the society.


On the second day, the team m visited departments, classrooms, IQAC office, library, college administrative office, PG block, Science Block, Examination office, hostels in the campus and other infrastructures of the college. The Peer Team members shared their observations and encouraged the college to strive for “College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)” and later to be deemed university.
