NABARD sensitizes NGOs and SHGs in Meluri

To sensitize and strengthen the role of NGOs and Self Help Groups, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) organised a program for NGO members and SHG leaders at Meluri on August 27. 

A press release from NABARD Phek’s District Development Manager (DDM)NABARD, Imsunaro stated that the program was coordinated by Social Welfare Society for Rural Development (SOSWORD). Imsunaro deliberated on the role of NABARD towards achieving of sustainable rural development in partnership with stakeholders. She also shared on government sponsored programs, SHGs and their relationship with financial institutions. Birjeet Singh, LDM shared on various banking facilities available in the banks. ACTO (Agronomy), Dr. Hannah Kriijia, and SMS (Animal Science), KVK Porba Dr. Debojyoti gave presentations on income generating activities and livestock based SHGs respectively.
