NACF dismayed over ‘deplorable road condition’

Expressing dismay over the “deplorable road condition” between 4th mile junction to Niuland Town, Niuland Area Citizen Forum (NACF) has urged the responsible department to take suitable action.

In a press release, NACF president Kakishe Shikhu and information & publicity secretary S Saul Sema said that for the last couple of years, the road had been “almost impassable”.
NACF stated that the road had become deplorable due to rain, which had made travels worse with numerous craters and large boulders.
It said that the road segment also connected villages and towns covering portion of Dimapur and Wokha and at times served as an important bypass diversion to Kohima via Zhadima.
The forum also stated that with the pandemic hard hitting the masses and skyrocketing fuel prices, the common people using this stretch of road had been left high and dry with essential commodities costs rising and “travelling to Dimapur becoming a nightmare even on medical emergencies.”
NACF, has, therefore requested the responsible authority to immediately take suitable action otherwise it would have no option but to “protest democratically”.
