Naga cop bags ‘Union Home Minister’s medal for excellence in investigation’

UBSI Temsuyangba Ao of West Police Station was among the 152 police personnel, including 28 women officers, who have been awarded the ‘Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation’ for 2021.

The Government of India on Thursday announced the names of the awardees. According to officials, the award was constituted in 2018 with the objective to “promote high professional standards of investigation of crime and to recognise such excellence in investigation by investigating officers”.

Temsuyangba was among nine police personnel from the North East to receive the award– four from Assam and one each from Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura.
