Naga Hoho (NH) Federal Assembly speaker, Kenyuseng Tep, has informed that as per the NH Yezaboh (Constitution) the tenure of the NH executive expires on November 26, 2018 and new office bearers were supposed to be elected two months ahead of the expiry by constituting a search/nomination committee by the Federal Assembly. However, the speaker said that due process was not followed owing to various reasons.
Since no Federal Assembly and general session could be held by the present incumbent, the speaker, on behalf of the NH, has apologised to the Naga people for all the shortcomings and failures. NH speaker informed that though the Executive Council would cease to function by November 26, 2018, the organs of the Federal Assembly would remain alive till the new team of office bearers was constituted for continuity of the NH.
In consultation with the Tribe Hohos, the speaker said he would summon a Federal Assembly at the earliest possible time to constitute the Election Commission and other issues to strengthen the NH.
He said the necessity has arisen to facilitate consultation with all Tribe Hoho so that all due processes were carried forward through the Federal Assembly. NH speaker has, therefore, called upon all Tribe Hohos and organisations to bear and understand the fragile situation, give their cooperation and actively participate to have a rejuvenated and vibrant NH to serve the Naga people.
