A new self-improvement book titled Naga Hustlers by author Avitho-o Loucü was formally released on Wednesday at the Jini Study Centre, Kohima. Published by 6th Finger Publishers, the book offers practical guidance on health, finances, and relationships, while critically engaging with contemporary issues affecting Naga society.
Speaking at the launch, Loucü shared that the book was inspired by his sister’s perseverance in pursuing her MBBS degree. He defined a “hustler” as someone who relentlessly chases their dreams, and said the book addresses topics such as social media’s impact, Nagaland’s economic landscape, human sciences, depression, pornography, and the role of the Marwari community in the state’s economy.
Publisher Sentinaro Longkumer praised Loucü’s passion and sincerity, noting the book’s diverse chapters that cover gym culture, unemployment and the Oting incident. She highlighted the inclusion of profiles of local entrepreneurs, which she said makes the book relatable and potentially transformative for Naga readers.
William Seleho, proprietor of Magdaline Coaching Centre featured in a dedicated chapter called the book a “meaningful reflection of our lives.” He recounted his personal struggles with alcoholism and business setbacks, and expressed appreciation for the book’s focus on real-life challenges.
CTAN convenor Meshenlo Kath commended Loucü’s concern for society, emphasizing the book’s relevance in addressing Nagaland’s high unemployment rate and the need to shift from a government-job mindset to skill-based entrepreneurship.
Naga Hustlers is Loucü’s second publication, following The Ugly Duckling Nagas. A native of Zhadima village, he holds an M.Tech in Structural Engineering and runs a consultancy firm. The event was chaired by Er. Kaqheto Kughutu, co-convenor of CTAN, with the book formally released by Medoneilie Mechulhou, chaplain of G. Rio School.
