National BJP vice president M Chuba Ao on Friday urged the Naga leaders to be “ready to accept solution which is mutually acceptable and is practical enough.”
M Chuba said “one must express deep appreciation at the Prime Minister’s actions in trying to resolve the Naga political problem.” Though negotiations have been progressing at various levels, he said: “The government has made it clear that ‘separate’ Flag and Constitution demands were not acceptable.”
Moreover, for any democratic setup, Chuba said the Constitution of India was sacred and binding on all. “…So any kind of adventurism will have to go through constitutional and legal scrutiny of the Supreme Court and also of the two Houses of Parliament,” he said.
While maintaining that everyone was keen for solution, Chuba, citing media reports, also said that the Centre was keen to usher in “a season of festivity and joy in Nagaland during Christmas.”
