Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) has described as “unilateral” the setting of October 31, 2019 deadline to conclude the peace talk, saying it contravened the agreed principles i.e., ‘without pre-condition.’
In a memorandum to the Prime Minister, NPMHR said that a workable and realistic deadline must be agreed upon by the negotiating parties. NPMHR urged that understanding on the deadline between the negotiating parties was reached without jeopardizing the process.
It reiterated that imposition of a deadline after 22 years of negotiation was “arbitrary” and reflects lack of political will and vision on the part of GoI.
