JD(U) Nagaland state unit has stated that an honourable and acceptable solution can be only achieved in an atmosphere that was not vitiated by coerciveness and mistrusts.
JD(U) Nagaland through its publicity cell also stated that all the negotiating parties must be sincere and committed to the synopsis, which has been agreed upon as a prelude to full peace negotiations.
The party maintained that there should be no room for threats and intimidation based on might and advantages, which it cautioned “will only result in an unwelcomed decision.”
Drawing the attention of the negotiating parties, JD(U) Nagaland stated that the mandate of the people should be the primary concern while safeguarding each other’s ideologies and positions.
JD(U) reminded that Jaya Prakash Narayan, the founding father of the party, was one of the pioneers and member of the first Peace Mission, who had sincerely worked for bringing an honourable solution for the Nagas.
In its follow up to the footsteps of JP Narayan, the JDU Nagaland has earnestly appealed to Government of India and all the Naga political groups to “avoid confrontational and accusatory statements” in public domain, but take time to give each other enough opportunities to overcome the difficulties that were “seemingly obstructing the road to honourable solution.”
It asserted that Nagas living in different administrative units have longed desire for peaceful solution based on the principle of the uniqueness of the Naga history.
