Naga United Village GHS school building inaugurated

Government High School Naga United Village new school building was inaugurated on Thursday by Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, the DC congratulated the people behind successful completion of the school building and called upon the stakeholders to develop a sense of ownership and take good care of the school building.
Addressing the students, Yhome encouraged them to optimally use the privilege that has been provided by the government. He challenged the students to keep their ambitions high and to dream big.
The DC also called upon the village councils, GBs and SMVCs of Naga United Village to be united and extend cooperation to schools and health centres within their jurisdiction.
 With the coming up of new infrastructure and facilities, he said everyone should work together towards the growth and development of the students. 
Delivering a short speech, deputy district education officer, Dimapur, R. Amongla lauded the village education committee, supported by the village council for judiciously utilizing the fund provided by the department.
Stating that constructing new school buildings alone was enough, she said village education committee along with the teaching faculty should put in extra effort to uplift the standard of education in the society. While delivering a brief history of the school, graduate teacher cum SMDC member secretary, Kethosetuo Kezo, mentioned that Government High School Naga United Village was established in the year 1973 as Government Primary School. 
He said that after 25 years of existence, it was upgraded to Government Middle School in 1998 and 12 years later the school was again upgraded to secondary level. Kezo said at present the school has 36 teachers, 9 non-teaching staffs and total student enrolled in 2017 were 663. 
The inaugural programme was chaired by assistant head mistress, Thechano Patton, God’s blessing was invoked by Pastor, Naga United Village Baptist Church, Kuhusheyi Chotso, welcome address was delivered by graduate teacher, Sungjemtola and special choreography was presented by primary students and vote of thanks was proposed by GB, Mase Vero.
