Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) has strongly condemned the incident of a woman being robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight on April 13, 2026 near her residence in Dimapur.
In a press release, NWHD describing the incident as “highly disturbing” and stated that such acts not only endangered individual safety but also eroded the collective sense of security in society.
The hoho noted that Dimapur and Nagaland as a whole have long been considered among the safer places for women in the country, making the brazen robbery even more alarming. NWHD urged the responsible authorities to take immediate, firm, and decisive action to apprehend the perpetrators at the earliest.
NWHD also called upon the law enforcement agencies to strengthen security measures, increase patrolling, and ensure prompt and fair delivery of justice.
NWHD also appealed to all citizens to remain vigilant, cooperative, and proactive in safeguarding their neighbourhoods while supporting efforts to maintain peace and law and order.
Meanwhile, NWHD has extended solidarity with the victim and her family during this difficult time and reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the safety, dignity, and rights of all women in Nagaland.
