Former legislator, Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, said it was high time for the Naga youths to venture into entrepreneurship and not simply rely or hunt for government jobs.
He was speaking at the grand opening of a new hotel and restaurant, Oakland Boutique, in Kohima on Saturday.
Dr Nicky observed that government jobs would not suffice since there were too many educated youths and therefore they should take up business and entrepreneurial activities.
Sharing his observation on the benefits of being polite and good services, Dr Nicky said the proprietors should make sure that they teach their employees how to be respectful and polite to their customers.
He said this would make customers want to visit the hotel again once they come and experience the good services provided.
Quoting an old proverb, he said, a house is build by hands but a home is build by hearts and similarly when services are provided whole heartedly it would guarantee the success of the business.
He exhorted the gathered youths to not be in hurry to make quick money but things take time and therefore they should learn to be patient and work diligently.
He stressed on the need to be hygienic, polite and be ready with good services.
He later wished the business a grand success.
Manager, Bank of Baroda, Naga Bazar Branch, Mukesh Kumar, said the bank was on an endeavour to provide start-ups for youths who were interested in entrepreneurial activities.
He said when the proprietors Thejasenuo Üsou and her sister approached the bank with their ideas, the bank felt the need to finance them and accordingly agreed to finance their venture.
Kumar said the bank feels that it should promote entrepreneurs as there was not enough government jobs for the youths.
He said the youths should also possess entrepreneurial skills which was essential for the success of a venture.
He encouraged the youths to own their own start-ups, earn from it and provide jobs to other youths as well.
He hoped that the venture would create a new journey for the youths and also wished them success.
The newly opened restaurant hotel is located near St Francis De Sales church, Kohima.
