Dimapur police informed that one person was arrested for driving vehicle on railway track at Dimapur railway station.
In a press release, Dimapur police PRO stated that on December 16, 2025 at around 11:35pm, a vehicle Mahindra Thar (NL- 01 CA 8181) driven by one Thepfuneituo (65), son of late Khriezo Rio, resident of Signal Angami, Dimapur, was found to have illegally entered the railway tracks towards Dimapur railway station platform and stuck on line No 1 near the old flyover area (Burma Camp side).
On receiving information, PRO said police personnel, in coordination with Railway authorities, immediately responded to the spot. PRO said the vehicle was safely intercepted and removed from the railway tracks, ensuring that no harm was caused to passengers, railway property, or the general public.
According to PRO, the preliminary inquiry indicated that the act was a result of gross negligence and violation of traffic and railway safety norms. PRO said the vehicle along with the driver had been taken into custody/arrested and a case registered at RPF Dimapur.
PRO added that investigation was ongoing to ascertain all circumstances, including whether alcohol or any other substance was involved.
Meanwhile, Dimapur police have strongly cautioned the public that unauthorised entry onto railway tracks was a serious offence and posed grave danger to life and public safety.
Police warned that such reckless actions not only endangered the individual involved but also put passengers and critical infrastructure at risk.
Therefore, police have urged the public to report any suspicious or unsafe activities promptly to the police.
