As part of its civic action programme, the 173 Bn CRPF Airfield Dimapur extended humanitarian services to various societies in and around Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts, where solar lamps and Water storage tanks were distributed.
On Wednesday, the programme held at its unit headquarter located at Airfield Dimapur was graced by Commissioner of Police (CP) Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Sophie acknowledged the commanding officer, officers, and men and women of the 173rd CRPF Battalion for extending humanitarian services and considered the programme as humane and necessity for the welfare and wellbeing of the community.
He urged the beneficiaries that price of the items was not important, but concern of the force to carry out humanitarian work should be considered and appreciated. He maintained that it depends on individual officers, men and women of the unit to come out and extend social service for the welfare of the people, and urged all beneficiaries to not forget the gesture displayed by the battalion.
Meanwhile, delivering the vote of thanks, commandant, 173 Bn CRPF, Ashok Kumar Yadav, informed that the programme was organized to help the elderly and the needy, pointing out that 58 Solar Lamps and 36 Water storage tanks were distributed to the beneficiaries.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Dy Commandant, 173 Bn CRPF, Heiyilung Nsarangbe, short speeches by two of the beneficiaries and bamboo dance presented by Phaipijang Village youth.
It was later informed that same programme would be carried out at the venue on March 16, Transit Camp DC Court on March 17 and one at Khensa Mokokchung.
