The 2nd edition of the Kandi Sports Meet, organised under the aegis of the Kandi Sports Association (KSA), commenced at the Kandi Students’ Union Ground on December 27.
This year’s edition marks a significant milestone with the introduction of Naga Wrestling, guided and supported by the Rengma Wrestling Association.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, president of Dimapur Naga Council, G.K. Rengma, highlighted the theme “Vigorous Vitality”, remarking that it perfectly aligns with the qualities required in every sporting discipline.
He emphasized that unity and togetherness always outshine individualistic aspirations, serving as a key factor for inclusive growth.
Reflecting on the present political scenario, he reiterated that the fabric of the Naga Council, Dimapur remains steadfast in its vision for greater Dimapur and Nagaland.
The welcome address was delivered by Haiwachu Apon, president of KSA and the programme was chaired by Kesihang Kath, president of Kandi Students’ Union. On the occasion, the association felicitated K. Kitenlo Thono and Khiti Kath for their excellence in sports.
