The 3rd International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research & Innovation (ICMRI-2025), organized by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of St. Joseph University (SJU), commenced on October 23, , at the University Auditorium.
Centered on the theme “Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2030)”, the conference aimed to provide global platform for academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students to exchange ideas, present their research findings, and foster collaborative learning.
A press release by SJU stated that in his address, Vice-Chancellor of St. Joseph University , Dr. Gnanadurai, highlighted the three core pillars of sustainable development, economic growth, social progress, and environmental protection, noting that achieving balance among them was vital for true progress.
He further encouraged scholars to pursue research that contributes meaningfully to society, stating that research “should not be just for publishing, but should be helpful to society”.
The release added that the inaugural address was delivered by Pro-Chancellor, North East Christian University (NECU), Prof. Darlando Khathing, who shared valuable insights from his academic and administrative experience.
He underscored importance of collaboration and innovation in addressing global challenges and achieving sustainable development.
The inauguration was followed by technical sessions, where scholars from various institutions presented their research papers across diverse fields, contributing to vibrant academic discussions and knowledge exchange.
The release further added that the event sought to promote innovation-driven research and exploration of new perspectives across multiple disciplines, including science, technology, social sciences, humanities, commerce, and management.
The inaugural ceremony was moderated by assistant professor, K. Livikali Yeptho, and invocation offered by Public Relations Officer, Rev. Fr. Dr. L. Anish.
