Four students from Kohima Village were awarded the Sachü Scholarship Program 2026 at a ceremony held at Kohima Village Council Hall on January 3.
The annual initiative, organised by Kohima Village Students’ Union (KVSU) under the aegis of Miraculum Society, Nagaland, marked its third consecutive year. The recipients, representing the four khels of Kohima Village, were recognised for their academic commitment and potential, with the programme aimed at promoting higher education, leadership and social responsibility among village youth.
Addressing the gathering, founder of Miraculum Society, Vikuonuo Sachü, underlined the transformative role of education in bringing social change. She said the scholarship was born out of a personal commitment to give back to Kohima Village and to support students aspiring for higher education despite financial constraints.
Vikuonuo informed that the programme, instituted in honour of late Tuozo Sachü and late Neithonuo Sachü, was launched in 2024 and had supported eight students in its first two years. Since then, it has evolved into an annual award, continuing its mission of empowering village youth. She expressed gratitude to parents, student unions and community members for their support, while encouraging recipients to uphold the trust placed in them.
Speaking on the occasion, president of Kewhimiapfü Mechü Krotho (KMK), Khrieneinuo Pienyu, congratulated the awardees and urged them to remain focused on their academic goals. She lauded Miraculum Society for its consistent contribution towards student welfare and community development.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by KVSU president Khriesaneikuo Kire, invocation was offered by chaplain of Khedi BHSS, Neisier Lieziestu, and a special musical presentation by Mhaphrunuo Rutsa.
