Nagaland 44th Greenwood School sports meet 2025 kicks off

The 44th Annual Sports Meet of Greenwood School commenced on Wednesday, at the school ground, Kuda Village, Dimapur. The event brought together students, teachers and parents to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Former Advocate General of Nagaland and former Special Counsel for CBI Nagaland, P. Pius Lotha, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He hoisted the school flag, followed by the traditional torch run, marking the commencement of the grand event.
In his address, Pius Lotha commended the students of Greenwood School for their discipline and the school’s serene learning environment. Emphasizing the importance of discipline as a foundation for success, he lauded the institution’s remarkable achievements in the field of games and sports, both at the state and national levels. He credited the school administration for its dedicated efforts in nurturing young talents.
Highlighting that education is an all-round development of a child, Lotha encouraged students to remain honest, diligent and faithful in their pursuits to achieve true success in life. He then officially declared the Sports Meet open.
The march past, led by Parade Commander Dolim Somba, showcased the unity and enthusiasm of the four school houses comprising students from the primary, high school and intermediate sections. The sports oath was administered by coach of Greenwood School Khelo India Football team, Kechi Kulimbe.
The event also saw the felicitation of outstanding achievers in various sports categories by Director of Greenwood School, Asito Peseyie, who encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence.
Earlier, the programme began with a welcome address by Assistant Director of Greenwood School, Theja Khate, and an invocation prayer was offered by Director (Missions & Evangelism), Ketusilie Sakhrie.
