Nagaland 50+ footballers depart for 8th National Masters Games

DIMAPUR, JAN 27 (NPN)

A 17-member contingent of veteran footballers in the 50+ category from Nagaland has departed for Pune to participate in the 8th National Masters Games, scheduled to be held from January 27 to 31, 2026, at Pimpri Chinchwad, Maharashtra.
Organised by the Super Masters Games and Sports Federation of India, the event will feature over 5,000 athletes from across the country and is open to men and women aged 30 and above.
The tournament will include team competitions in Kabaddi, Hockey, Handball, Football, Volleyball, and Tennis Ball, along with a diverse range of individual events such as Athletics, Archery, Chess, Swimming, Badminton, Table Tennis, Judo, Karate, Weightlifting, Lawn Tennis, Yoga, Air Pistol, Air Rifle, Dart Game, and more. Nagaland is fielding three men’s football teams in the competition—two in the 40+ category from Dimapur (Team A) and Mokokchung (Team B), and one in the 50+ category.
The 50+ squad representing Nagaland comprises: Yangba Konyak, Razouvotuo Chatsu, N. Jacob Yanthan, Roko Angami, K. Neibou Sekhose, Y. Yambemo Lotha, Lipokyanger, Tourangbam Jeshu Singh, Changki, Sanjit Difoe, Wangba Konyak, Supongjungshi, H. Lauba Konyak, L. Renthungo Lotha, N. Sakoi Konyak, P. Yanbemo Humtsoe, and Khriengulie Rio.
