The Nagaland Athletics Association organized the 5th edition of the Nagaland 10K – The Great Hornbill Run 2025 on Friday at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence (RCSR), Sovima, Chümoukedima.
A total of 126 athletes from across India registered for this year’s competition, representing diverse age groups and categories. The event witnessed spirited participation, reflecting the growing interest in distance running and athletics in the region.
The run was sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, whose support was instrumental in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
Speaking at the occasion, treasurer of the Nagaland Athletics Association, Neingulie Nakhro, congratulated all participants for their sportsmanship and extended gratitude to partners, volunteers and supporters. He reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to promoting athletics and nurturing young talent in the state.
The Nagaland 10K – The Great Hornbill Run has become a major sporting highlight of the Hornbill Festival season, inspiring fitness, discipline and community participation.
The association also announced that the Nagaland Cross Country Championship will be held on December 18, 2025. Registration is open to bona fide citizens of Nagaland through the official website NagalandAthletics.org and social media handles.
