Nagaland: 6th Mokokchung Winter Carnival kicks off

The 6th Winter Night Carnival, organized by the Adventure and Motorsport Association Mokokchung (AMAM) kicked off in Mokokchung. The event that started on December 15 and will continue till December 17 at the Mokokchung Town main Police Point.
Temsuchuba Jamir, SDO(Civil) Mokokchung, who inaugurated the carnival as the special guest, lauded AMAM for the initiative, described it as a crucial platform for talent display and entrepreneurial growth through direct public interaction through setting up of stalls. He also noted how the festive spirit kindles warmth in hearts, fostering precious moments for families and friends-perfectly timed post-academic sessions for relaxation and joy.
He further appealed to the revellers to celebrate responsibly, following guidelines to preserve order, cleanliness, and respect for the urban surroundings, ensuring the carnival enhances rather than disrupts the town. The ceremony concluded with a delightful walkthrough of the stalls, serenaded by enchanting Christmas carols by the students of Class of Music, Mokokchung, setting a joyful tone for the nights ahead
The carnival features around 110 stalls offering food, games, and local products, aiming to bring the community together and promote local entrepreneurship. Visitors can enjoy live music, a photo booth, and a kids’ corner, among other attractions. The event is expected to attract visitors from across the region, boosting the local economy and fostering a sense of community spirit.
