Nagaland: 6th triennial session of KATK held in Dimapur

The 6th Triennial Session of Kulolau Aghünato Tokukujomi Küqhakulu (KATK) was held on December 20 at Bellizza Isle, Purana Bazar, Dimapur with MLA and Advisor, Land Resources, GoN, G. Ikuto Zhimomi, as the special guest.
A press release by KATK, organising Secy, Mughato K Kiba, stated that G. Ikuto Zhimomi, in his speech, congratulated successful candidates from the Aghünato area who secured officer positions in various fields and departments over the last two years.
He highlighted that the Aghünato area spans from Khumishi to Nihoshe and comprises four key units: Aghünato Town Area (Aghünato), Aghünato Area Zunheboto, Aghünato Area Kohima, and Aghünato Area Dimapur, now called Kulolau Aghünato Area Kuqhakulu (KATK), emphasising unity.
He advised the units to function as a think tank, collaborating collectively for the upliftment of the Aghünato area, particularly in preparation for the 75 year jubilee celebrations due in 2027. He urged participants to rise above “isms,” irrespective of political parties or religion, fostering harmony and progress. He also encouraged educated youth to pursue competitive exams, reaffirming his commitment to sponsor interested candidates for coaching under the Local Area Development Project (LADP) scheme.
Phek Government College, assistant professor, Mughato K. Kiba, spoke on behalf of successful candidates of various competitive exams. He described that felicitating moment in an important event greatly boosts the spirits of aspirants as it acts as a catalyst which can reinforce positive attitude and eventually lead to reach their goals.
KATK, Chairman Hukavi T. Yepthomi, who delivered the welcome address, stated that KATK is a Union composed of five ranges under Aghünato including Asuto, Sata, Aghünato, Tokiye and Hoshepe and emphasised unity and cooperation among the people.
Khushito Awomi and Angukato Awomi were elected as chairman and secretary along with other members as new team of office bearers for the tenure 2026-2028.
A song was presented by Loinoka H Yeputho, while Mulato Katty,highlighted the secretary’s report for the tenure 2023-2025. Cultural items of Aphilo kuwo and Thighale were presented by Lizutomi and Aghunato womenfolk of Padumpukhuri.
WSBAK former executive secretary, Rev.Vitoshe Swu, prayed for the gatherings and new executive members.
The program was chaired by Kiyeshe Jimo, invocation by women leader, Naharbari SBA, Hukatoli Yeptho, vote of thanks by VP, Otoka Yeptho and benediction by YP Unity Village SBA, Amento K Achumi.
