The 70th Tatar Hoho of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) was held in Kohima on January 29, 2026, during which several key decisions were taken unanimously after detailed deliberations on important issues.
According to a press release issued by NNC/FGN, the meeting re-elected K. Vadeo and Haingau Zeliang as Kedahge and Kedallo for the tenure 2026–2030. The Tatar Hoho also elected former deputy speaker H.K. Zeliang as the Speaker for the same tenure. Vacant positions within the Tatar Hoho were also filled during the meeting.
The NNC/FGN further informed that it has come to the notice that certain miscreants are misusing the name of NNC/FGN and indulging in extortion and illegal tax collection activities. NNC/FGN strongly warned such individuals against tarnishing the name and reputation of the NNC/FGN for personal gain. Stating that it will not tolerate such unwarranted activities, the NNC/FGN cautioned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against those involved. It also asserted that acting against the interests of the people in the name of “fighting for freedom” holds no meaning and will not be accepted.
