Nagaland: 74th SRSA sports tournament concludes

DIMAPUR, JAN 12 (NPN)

The 74th Sanis Range Sports Association (SRSA) Sports Tournament concluded with a closing ceremony held under the chairmanship of senior advisor of SRSA Lichio Yanthan.
In football, defending champions Nitsiyan FC retained their title, while Sunglup Sputnik finished as runners-up.
In Men’s Volleyball, Yimparasa Village Volleyball Team emerged champions, with Bhandari Village Sporting Club securing the runner-up position.
In the Women’s Volleyball, Hayi Sporting Club A, Sanis village, clinched the championship, while Baghty Valley Elite Team finished runners-up.
In Individual Awards, Highest Goal Scorer (Football): Yiben Ezung (Nitsiyan FC); Football Player of the Tournament: Sentisang (Sunglup Sputnik); Men’s Volleyball Player of the Tournament: Mukunda (Bhandari Village Sporting Club); Women’s Volleyball Player of the Tournament: Chumyani Kikon, (Hayi Sporting Club A); Emerging Player (Women’s Volleyball): Sukumbeni Kikon (Soku Students’ Union).
SDPO Bhandari, R. Philip Yanthan, graced the occasion as the special guest. In his address, he congratulated the players for their discipline and sincere efforts throughout the tournament. He encouraged them to maintain the same enthusiasm in the future, excel in their education, and think seriously about their aspirations. He further urged the youth to obey their parents, respect elders, contribute positively to society, and foster healthy social relationships.
The closing ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by games and sports secretary of SRSA Longshithung Yanthan.
The SRSA extended heartfelt gratitude to all donors, individuals, and well-wishers for their generous contributions, support and prayers, which played a vital role in making the tournament a grand success.
