Nagaland active COVID cases to 874

 DIMAPUR, AUG 31 (NPN): Nagaland on Monday registered 28 new COVID-19 positive cases-14 in Dimapur, 10 in Kiphire and 4 in Kohima. 

With 3950 cases registered till date, the state now has only 874 active cases as on August 31 while 3058 have recovered from the dreaded infection. As per the severity of symptoms, 862 active cases are asymptomatic, 11 mild and 1 moderate case. 

Further, out of the 3,950 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people include 1,692 cases from the Armed Forces, 1260 returnees, 283 frontline workers and 715 traced contacts.

India’s virus tally crosses 36 lakh mark

NEW DELHI, AUG 31: The novel coronavirus tally in India crossed 36 lakh on Monday with 78,512 new cases, while the number of recoveries surged to 27,74,801, pushing the recovery rate to 76.62 per cent, the Health Ministry said.

The death toll climbed to 64,469 with 971 more people succumbing to the infection in a span of 24 hours, according to the ministry data.

There are 7,81,975 active cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country, while 27,74,801 people have recovered. The total coronavirus cases rose to 36,21,245, it said.

The recovery rate has increased to 76.62 per cent, while the fatality rate has declined to 1.78 per cent.
