Ao Lanur Telongjem (ALT) has demanded the resignation of the chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG) and the Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFSB) on moral grounds, alleging failure to act against repeated violations of ceasefire ground rules by Naga Political Groups (NPGs).
In a condemnation statement, ALT convener Imnaonen Pongen and co-convener Tia Longchar strongly denounced the criminal intrusion by armed cadres of the NSCN-K (Khango/Vusshe) into a private residence at Aoyimkum village, Dimapur, around midnight on December 15, 2025. ALT described the incident as appalling, stating that cadres fired rounds inside the residential premises, injured a victim, and abducted five persons at gunpoint.
ALT said it was incomprehensible how armed cadres could blatantly enter the jurisdiction of a government-recognised village and terrorise occupants, including elderly parents, women and children. It maintained that no justification could be offered for such actions and that the incident must be condemned by all sections of society.
Expressing distress that such incidents occurred during the festive season, ALT said anti-social elements, under the guise of “national workers”, were roaming freely and intimidating innocent citizens. It alleged that repeated violations continued due to the absence of convictions and failure to invoke stringent laws, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. ALT said the people of Nagaland did not deserve such an environment during a season meant for peace and harmony.
ALT recalled that exactly a year ago, a bona fide member and entrepreneur of the organisation from Chümoukedima, Aolemba Longkumer, was allegedly served a demand slip by the same NPG, and claimed that members of the community had since been systematically targeted.
Raising serious concerns, ALT questioned whether any of these cases had reached their logical conclusion and warned that it would be compelled to mobilise community opinion and chart alternative courses of action. Stating that repeated assurances by the CFMG and CFSB chairman had yielded no results, ALT said he had lost credibility for failing to act against blatant ceasefire violations, and therefore demanded his resignation on moral grounds.
ALT further urged Dimapur Police to expedite the investigation and arrest those involved without delay. The organisation expressed full support to the Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) in its efforts to bring the perpetrators under the rule of law, and appealed to Naga youth apex bodies and civil society organisations to not only condemn the incident but also collectively consider non-cooperation against such NPGs.
NSCN-K (Khango-Vusshe) claims raid on fake call centre at Aoyimkum
NSCN-K (Khango-Vusshe) on Wednesday claimed responsibility for a raid carried out by its Crime Monitoring Cell at Aoyimkum village on the night of December 15, stating that the operation targeted an alleged illegal BPO/fake call centre operating in the area.
In a statement issued through its MIP, the group said the raid was conducted based on specific inputs that organised crime syndicates were running a fake call centre from the location. It claimed that six individuals were apprehended during the operation along with what it described as substantial proof and evidence of illegal activities.
According to the statement, during interrogation the individuals allegedly admitted to operating the fake call centre since June 2025. The group alleged that the modus operandi involved calling vulnerable individuals, extracting bank account details and siphoning off money from unsuspecting victims.
The NSCN-K (Khango-Vusshe) stated that the six individuals were later released unharmed following the intervention of a civil society organisation, citing the festive season as a goodwill consideration.
The group asserted, as people’s mandated government, it considered itself duty-bound to detect, expose and take drastic prevent measures against any unwanted social elements engaged in such kinds of illegal activities.
It warned individuals or groups involved in operating fake call centres to immediately cease such activities and cautioned that stringent action would be taken against those exploiting innocent civilians.
The statement also urged village authorities to strictly monitor activities within their jurisdictions and appealed to state and central law enforcement agencies to intensify efforts to curb what it termed the mushrooming of illegal BPO or fake call centres. It further called upon the public to remain vigilant against such activities.
