Nagaland: ANCSU demands requisition of 129 asst. professor posts

DIMAPUR, JAN 17 (NPN)

All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has expressed disappointment over the “continued inaction” by the higher & technical education department in requisitioning 129 assistant professor posts to the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) despite all necessary clearances.
In a representation addressed to the secretary higher & technical education, ANCSU president Kivika Yeptho and vice-president Duve Tetse-o acknowledged the state government and the department for creating the 129 posts to address the acute shortage of assistant professors in government colleges. ANCSU pointed out that the manpower rationalization committee (MRC) had recommended the posts vide NO.AR-3/GEN-331/16(VOL-11) dated August 11, 2025 and the State Cabinet approved vide No. CAB-1/14/2023 dated August 30, 2025. However, despite those approvals, ANCSU said requisition had not yet been forwarded to NPSC for initiation of recruitment process.
ANCSU questioned the department for the inability to requisition the posts to NPSC, saying all the administrative clearance at the government level was completed. In view of the above, ANCSU has demanded immediate requisition to the NPSC without further delay.
