Nagaland ANCSU seniors to meeton election controversy

Staff ReporterDIMAPUR, OCT 31 (NPN)

Amid controversy in the election process of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) for the 2025-2027 tenure, ANCSU tribunal has convened a seniors’ consultative meeting at its office in Kohima on November 1, to deliberate on the issue and safeguard the integrity of the union.
In a circular, Tribunal general Vimeyiekho Vitso, and tribunal members Toito D. Chishi and Imnameren N. Jamir informed that the meeting was convened following imbroglio over the election process, and the resultant allegations that has imperilled the integrity of the union.
The tribunal urged all seniors to attend the meeting in the larger interest of the union. It may be recalled that student body representatives from at least 19 colleges alleged irregularities and procedural lapses during ANCSU election held recently at St. Xavier College, Jalukie.
They raised objections over the conduct of the election, alleging that it was “unconstitutional and unfair” and demanded that the election process be reviewed.
