The All Nagaland Shaolin Kung-Fu Association (ANSKA) has announced the successful participation and remarkable achievements of the Nagaland team at the 36th National Jeet Kune Do Championship 2025, held at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, from December 14 to 16, 2025.
Nagaland contingent delivered an exceptional performance, securing multiple medals across categories and was honoured with the prestigious Best Discipline Award 2025, underscoring the team’s discipline, dedication and excellence. Following are the medal winners in various categories:-
Senior Category: Namlang Zeliang – Sanda Under 50 kg (Gold); Avisa Suokhrie – Sanda Under 75 kg (Gold) and Nyurhunlo Kent – Sanda Under 65 kg (Gold).
Junior Category: Abdul Sahir – Sanda Under 45 kg (Gold); Saronthung Christopher Yanthan – Under 50 kg (Gold); Paramita Paul – Under 55 kg (Gold) and Suma Meitei – Sanda Under 45 kg (Gold).
Masters Category: Dr. Ruokuo John Sorunuo – Sanda Under 80 kg (Gold); Dr. Meyiesielie Albert Sorunuo – Sanda Under 115 kg (Gold) (Best Wushu Hall of Fame) and Dr. David Keneingutuo Sorunuo – Sanda Under 95 kg (Gold).
ANSKA has also announced remarkable achievements by its athletes across national, international, Indo–Nepal and South Asian competitions during the year 2025. At the National Championships, the Association secured a total of 17 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. On the international stage, Nagaland athletes brought home 23 gold medals and 2 silver medals, while at the Indo–Nepal Championships they achieved 3 gold medals and 3 silver medals. The South Asian Games further added to the tally with 8 gold medals.
Altogether, the Association’s medal count for 2025 stood at an impressive 51 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.
Meanwhile, ANSKA expressed gratitude to dignitaries, institutions, parents, guardians and media houses for their continued encouragement and support, which have been instrumental in the Association’s success.
