Nagaland: AR conduct campaign on mental health

With an aim to raise awareness about mental health and substance abuse, among the youth, Assam Rifles (AR) in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland organized “Breaking the Silence” campaign and “World Suicide Prevention Day” on September 10 in Mon district.

The campaign, which began on August 12 in Kohima and continued to Mon, aimed to foster open discussions, challenge stigmas, and encourage youth to seek help. The event featured Miss Northeast 2023, Kenie Ritse, and Miss Nagaland, Neiketuno Sechu, who collaborated with AR through ACTS Foundation, and the Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland, emphasized mental well-being and the dangers of substance abuse throughout the state.

The event saw participation of 300 students, 32 civil dignitaries from various departments and 21 from civil society organizations of Mon District. Miss Northeast, Kenei Ritse, discussed stress management for students, especially during exams. A drug-free pledge was led by Miss Nagaland 2023, Neiketuno Sechu.
