Nagaland: AR conduct clean village campaign

DIMAPUR

Assam Rifles organised a “Green Village, Clean Village” campaign at Mutingkhong village, Kiphire district, on February 12 under its Civic Action Programme to promote environmental responsibility, village cleanliness and sustainable living practices.
The programme witnessed active participation from villagers of Mutingkhong and adjoining areas. Awareness was spread on proper waste disposal, sanitation, reduction of plastic use and conservation of natural resources, with emphasis on collective responsibility and community-driven efforts to transform villages into clean, healthy and eco-friendly habitats.
A cleanliness drive was conducted wherein Assam Rifles personnel along with villagers cleaned pathways, public areas and surrounding spaces. Saplings were planted at selected locations to enhance greenery and reinforce the message of environmental conservation. The event concluded with distribution of refreshments and awareness material. Villagers expressed appreciation for the initiative.
Meanwhile, demonstrating exceptional alertness and professional competence, Assam Rifles doctors swiftly managed a medical emergency during the Expo Mela at Athibung, Peren district, on February 14, saving the life of a 30-year-old civilian.
The individual suddenly developed acute abdominal pain at the venue. Assam Rifles medical personnel immediately responded, conducting rapid clinical assessment and administering urgent injectable therapy, which stabilised the patient and relieved symptoms. Recognising the need for advanced diagnostic evaluation, the patient was safely referred to a higher medical centre for definitive management.
The incident highlighted the high level of medical preparedness and life-saving capability of Assam Rifles doctors, whose timely intervention prevented further deterioration.
