DIMAPUR

Assam Rifles organised a series of initiatives aimed at fostering national integration, youth engagement and community welfare across Nagaland and neighbouring states.
At Tuensang, Assam Rifles conducted the flag-in ceremony of the ‘Seema Darshan’ Tour at Tuensang on January 30, marking the successful completion of the programme by a contingent of 13 students and four teachers from Changlangshu area, Nagaland.
The tour included visits to Kibithu and Kaho in Arunachal Pradesh, the easternmost inhabited village of India. Participants witnessed SU-30 MKI aircraft at Air Force Station Jorhat, explored the wilderness of Saikhowa National Park, paid homage to martyrs at Walong, and experienced life in forward border areas through interactions with local communities and security forces.
The initiative provided the students and teachers with first-hand exposure to the strategic importance of border areas, while fostering patriotism, national pride and respect for the nation’s unity and integrity.
Through interactions with personnel of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, the participants also gained valuable insights into border management, challenges faced by security forces and the resilience of people living in remote frontier regions.
The successful culmination of the ‘Seema Darshan’ Tour reflects Assam Rifles’ continued commitment towards youth engagement, nation building and strengthening bonds between the Armed Forces and the people, particularly the youth from remote areas.
As part of the National Integration Tour (NIT) under Operation Sadhbhavana for 2025–26, a team comprising 20 civilians, including 15 male and five female participants from Tuensang, accompanied by administrative staff, visited Kaziranga National Park on January 29, 2026.
According to Assam Rifles source, the visit aimed at promoting national integration while providing participants an opportunity to experience India’s rich natural and ecological heritage. During the tour, participants explored various areas of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its conservation of the one-horned rhinoceros and rich biodiversity. They were briefed on the ecological importance of the park, ongoing conservation measures and the role of responsible tourism in preserving natural habitats. The visit proved educational and inspiring, enhancing awareness on environmental protection and wildlife conservation while fostering appreciation for India’s natural wealth.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles organised a counselling session for families under the Rubaru initiative in Dimapur district. Themed “Me to We – co creating performance”, the session provided a platform for participants to share concerns and seek guidance on prioritising mental well-being. A total of 61 families attended the interactive session with a psychological counsellor, which offered valuable insights on family harmony and emotional well-being. Monthly sessions under Rubaru are being conducted for families of Assam Rifles, reflecting the spirit of “Unity is strength” by celebrating the contribution of every family within the force.
In another initiative, Assam Rifles organised a civic action programme at Benreu village, witnessed by a large number of residents. Soldiers distributed hygiene and sanitation items, warm clothes and blankets to improve health standards and provide relief during the prevailing weather conditions. Special emphasis was laid on children and youth, who actively participated in the event. Assam Rifles personnel interacted with children on personal hygiene and healthy living practices, while youth were encouraged towards education, discipline and constructive participation in society.
