Nagaland: AR douse fire at Leinak Ward, Longleng

In a delayed report, a fire broke out at the residence of John P. Bukung Keikung in Leinak Ward, Longleng around 12:45 p.m. on December 22, 2025, posing a threat to nearby houses and forested areas.
According to Assam Rifles sources, the fire was spotted from the COB, following which troops were immediately alerted. They cordoned off the area, evacuated residents, and deployed firefighting equipment to contain the flames in the early stages.
Fire personnel from Longleng, assisted by local volunteers and Assam Rifles troops, jointly battled the blaze for nearly two hours, successfully preventing its spread to adjoining houses and nearby forest cover.
No casualties or major injuries were reported. Assam Rifles, along with the local community, also extended immediate relief to the affected family.
