Nagaland: ARCS Wka organises ‘post harvest skilling’

Assistant Registrar, Co-Operative Societies, (ARCS) Wokha, organised a training on “Post Harvest Skilling” under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) 2023-2024, at Okotso village on October 4.


According to DIPR report, delivering keynote address, Obendangba, ARCS, Wokha, said that RKVY scheme which was launched under the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, to impart trainings and provides capacity building programmes to farmers with an aim to provide opportunities to come together through Co-Operative societies.


He informed that the scheme was also aimed to foster self reliance and economic empowerment through public participation in the activities of Agriculture and allied sectors and to empower the youth through skill development.


Speaking on “Management of Co-Operative Society”, SRCS, Wokha, T. Alanthung Ngullie, emphasised on the democratic principles, where every member has a voting right to elect a management committee to make decision to run their organisation effectively.
He said that it will ensure that financial interest and benefits of its members were protected by maintaining proper accounts.


Chief Technical Officer, (Extension) KVK, Wokha, Dr. BL.Mhalo Tungoe, who spoke on “Pest and Diseases Management” stressed on maintaining balance between pest and predators to keep pest and diseases down to acceptable level.

In the programme, P.Yanrenthung Patton, Agricultural Field Assistant spoke on “ Post Harvest Management” and Chumlanthung Ngullie, Banking Assistant, NSCB, Wokha, spoke on “Financial Literacy”. The programme was chaired by Vikethozo Kiso, ICS, Wokha.
