The Mokokchung Chapter of ARMS Incorporation, an initiative of INRIS India Foundation in collaboration with Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and ARMS Incorporation, was launched on Wednesday at the Conference Hall, Whispering Wind.
Speaking at the launch event, Nagaland Legislative Assembly speaker Sharingain Longkumer shared that INRIS India Foundation was a family initiative rooted in the silent endeavours of his late father, who had worked tirelessly for the upliftment of education. Longkumer expressed optimism that the new venture would open avenues for youth to explore global opportunities.
Addressing media persons at a press conference, director (External Affairs), ARMS Incorporation , Temjen Bursanen Jamir highlighted on the six-month Japanese Language Training Programme, including preparatory training for the Technical Intern Training Programme and Specified Skilled Worker schemes. He said ARMS aims to train and facilitate overseas employment for 500–800 youths across Nagaland in caregiving, manufacturing, agriculture, construction and other sectors.
Bursanen stated that the initiative aims to skill, employ and empower youth while equipping them with Japanese language and cultural knowledge, particularly for Mokokchung and neighbouring districts. Regarding course fees, Bursanen informed that while the actual cost is Rs. 2.72 lakh, the company has subsidised it to Rs. 1 lakh, payable in three stages Rs. 10,000 for registration, Rs. 40,000 upon selection and issuance of offer letter, and Rs. 50,000 one week prior to departure.
On the issue of workplace safety, the officials at the press briefing, informed that the Japanese company conducts bi-monthly visits to check on the well-being of employees and trainees, while the Indian counterpart also carries out regular monitoring. Meripeni, Project Lead, NSEDM-IDAN added that the Nagaland government is working on a policy to ensure the safety of workers employed abroad.
Delivering the greetings note, vice president, ARMS Incorporation Nagatoshi Shibata announced that ARMS Incorporation has so far sent 325 students abroad, with 150 currently awaiting visa clearance.
Earlier, short speeches were delivered by DC Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma; MMC chairman Imkongchuba; Ao Senden president Marsanen Imsong; AKM president Lanutoshi; MMC member and MCCI advisor MB Longkumer. Invocation was offered by MTBA senior pastor Ponen Longchar and vote of thanks was proposed by DAN chairman Dr. Watizulu Jamir. The programme was compered by Abenla Imsong.
