Nagaland Asian Koel recued in Kohima

DIMAPUR

An Asian Koel was successfully rescued after being spotted on October 31 at the residence of K. Neibu Sekhose in Kohima.
The bird, found to be in healthy condition with no injuries, was handed over to the staff of the department of environment, forest and climate change by Sekhose. Demonstrating exemplary citizen responsibility, he ensured that the wild bird was safely transferred to the appropriate authorities.
Following an assessment by the department’s staff, the Asian Koel was released the same day into the natural surroundings of the Blyth’s Tragopan Conservation and Breeding Centre, Kohima, in the presence of Ranger Officer Akokba Ao.
