Nagaland: Assam Rifle extend assistance, humanitarian support

DIMAPUR

Assam Rifles undertook a series of community-oriented initiatives in Nagaland, reaffirming its commitment to civilian welfare and local development.
In Peren district, the force assisted residents of New Jalukie village by facilitating the deployment of an Earth Moving Plant (EMP) for drainage improvement works. The initiative aimed at ensuring proper water runoff, preventing waterlogging, and minimizing road damage, particularly during the monsoon season. The improved drainage system is expected to enhance road durability, ease movement for vehicles and pedestrians, and contribute to better sanitation. Villagers expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, acknowledging its positive impact on daily life. In Kohima, Assam Rifles personnel responded to an emergency request from Naga Hospital Authority by donating blood to a five-year-old cancer patient undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The patient required urgent transfusion due to critically low haemoglobin and platelet levels. The swift and selfless action of the personnel ensured life-saving treatment without delay. Medical authorities lauded the humanitarian gesture, noting its crucial role in stabilizing the patient during a critical phase.
