Nagaland: Assam Rifles conduct various activities across the state

Assam Rifles conducted a series of impactful community activities across the state, promoting peace, unity, and cultural pride.
Assam Rifles flagged off a National Integration Tour from Dimapur, to Pransla, Gujarat. The tour, which aims to promote national integration, will provide 18 students and two teachers the opportunity to explore India’s diverse cultural and historical landscape. The participants will visit key national sites, including a visit to Delhi and participation in the Rashtra Katha Shivir, a national gathering focused on patriotism, cultural awareness, and leadership.
The flag-off ceremony, attended by senior Assam Rifles officials, encouraged students to serve as ambassadors of peace and unity. The initiative underscores the force’s commitment to fostering understanding and goodwill among the youth, contributing to the vision of a united India.
Alongside the youth-focused tour, Assam rifles Assam Rifles conducted a solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony on December 24 at Dimapur, Nagaland, to pay homage to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
The ceremony honoured the indomitable courage and selfless devotion of Naib Subedar (General Duty) Tulsi Ram Chhetri and Rifleman (General Duty) Late Babban Ram, who laid down their lives while combating insurgents.
A total of 162 personnel attended the ceremony and offered heartfelt tributes to the martyrs, whose valour and dedication continue to inspire generations of Assam Rifles personnel. The event reflected the courage and indomitable spirit of the Force, instilling pride in carrying forward its rich legacy.
PEREN: Assam Rifles celebrated Christmas with great enthusiasm, bringing together local residents to share in the festive spirit. The celebration, held at the Baptist Church and a nearby orphanage, reflected the force’s dedication to community outreach. Over 600 people gathered at the Baptist Church for the event, joining Assam Rifles personnel in offering Christmas greetings and spreading messages of love, peace, and goodwill.
The festivities extended to the orphanage, where around 70 children and staff took part in cultural activities, including singing, dancing, and choreographed performances. Assam Rifles also provided a special meal for the children, showcasing their compassion and support for the local community. The event was widely appreciated by local residents, church authorities, and orphanage staff.
Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Progressive Peren (P2), also organized the 8th Winter Carnival Festival, which attracted over 600 local residents. The vibrant festival, held in Peren, featured a mix of cultural performances, including captivating music by the Assam Rifles Jazz Band and Pipe Band. Traditional dances from the Zeliang community highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the region, promoting pride in indigenous customs.
KOHIMA: Assam Rifles hosted a Pre-Christmas gathering for elders, chairpersons of wards, colonies, and local residents of Kohima Town, celebrating the festive season in a warm and cordial atmosphere.
The gathering featured an interactive exchange on community welfare and local development, during which Assam Rifles personnel extended festive greetings and highlighted the importance of peace, harmony, and collective responsibility.
MON: As part of its ongoing civic action initiatives, Assam Rifles organised a Solar Lights Distribution programme on December 26, in Mon. The programme was conducted for the benefit of residents of Changalangshu and Wangti villages with the aim of addressing basic infrastructure needs in remote areas. During the event, a total of 20 solar lights were distributed to villagers to mitigate the challenges posed by limited access to electricity. The initiative seeks to improve basic lighting facilities, enhance safety during night hours, and promote the adoption of sustainable and eco-friendly energy solutions. The programme witnessed participation from local villagers, who expressed their appreciation for the support extended by Assam Rifles. Such community-centric initiatives highlight Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to inclusive development and strengthening its bond with the people of the region. By engaging closely with local communities and addressing essential civic requirements, the force continues to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the North East.
