Nagaland: Assam Rifles organise various activities

Assam Rifles, in its continued effort to support and uplift local communities, carried out various activities across the state. To promote cleanliness and hygiene, Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Kohima Municipal Corporation (KMC) conducted a cleanliness drive under the national campaign Swachhata Hi Seva in the D Block area and the Government Primary School, Kohima, on September 28.


The event witnessed active participation from local leaders, including the councillor of D Block, 45 residents, and 30 personnel from Assam Rifles. The campaign, driven by the principles of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, aimed to raise awareness on the importance of sanitation and cleanliness, particularly in public spaces and institutions such as schools.


The participants focused on cleaning the streets, school premises, and surrounding areas, ensuring that both the children and community members benefit from a clean and hygienic environment. The event concluded with a collective pledge to uphold the values of cleanliness and hygiene in the community.


Foundation day of Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home: Assam Rifles, in its continued effort to support and uplift local communities, celebrated the foundation day of the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home with great enthusiasm.

The event was graced by Maj Gen Manish Kumar, who expressed his admiration for the tireless work carried out by Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home for the underprivileged children of the region.


Speaking at the event, he emphasized the Assam Rifles’ longstanding commitment to societal welfare, particularly in reaching out to marginalized communities. On the occasion, Assam Rifles distributed a wide range of books, clothing, monetary aid and essential items such as food supplies and daily utility items to the children.
