Nagaland athletes to represent India at South Asian Bodybuilding C’ship

KOHIMA, JUN 26 (NPN): Nagaland Body Building and Fitness Association (NBBFA) has announced that Keneilelie (Sorü) Sorünuo and Lily Hashnu have been selected to represent India at the 16th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2026, scheduled to be held in Thimphu, Bhutan, from June 30 to July 4.
NBBFA general secretary, Thejakhrietuo Kire, informed that the prestigious championship would bring together leading bodybuilding and physique athletes from South Asian countries and provide a platform for elite-level competition and international sporting excellence.
The association described the selection of Keneilelie and Lily to the Indian contingent as a proud moment for Nagaland and said it reflected their dedication, discipline and achievements in the sport. It also stated that their participation highlighted the growing presence of Nagaland athletes on both national and international sporting platforms.
NBBFA extended its best wishes to the two athletes and expressed confidence that they would represent both the state and the country with pride, determination and sportsmanship throughout the championship.
The association further appealed to the people of Nagaland to extend their support and encouragement to the athletes as they carry the hopes and aspirations of the state onto the international stage.
