Nagaland ATI launches foundation course for NCS and BDO probationers in Kohima

DIMAPUR: Administrative Training Institute (ATI) held the inaugural programme for the foundation courses of the Nagaland Civil Service (NCS) probationers and Block Development Officers (BDO) Batch of 2025 on November 17, at its campus in Kohima.
According to a DIPR report, a total of 24 officer trainees, 10 NCS probationers and 14 BDOs, who recently cleared the Nagaland Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination (NPSC CSE) participated in the programme. Following the joint induction, the NCS probationers will continue with a one-year foundation course.
Addressing the gathering, director general, ATI, additional chief secretary (Agriculture) and Agricultural Production Commissioner, V. Shashank Shekhar lauded the trainees for their success. He noted that the camaraderie built during the joint induction would “last for a lifetime” and urged the new officers to uphold integrity, transparency, and fairness throughout their careers.
Shekhar reminded the trainees that the core function of government service is to work for the welfare of the people, adding that true fulfillment in public service comes from contributing to society. He concluded by emphasizing the importance of listening to citizens with empathy and remaining guided by one’s conscience.
Earlier, the program was chaired by deputy secretary to the Government of Nagaland, S Asalie Lese, followed by self-introduction by the officer trainees. An overview of the course was presented by Dr. A. Alem W. Longchar. The program was also attended by the officers of ATI and NCS probationers 2024 Batch who will be completing their training soon.
