Nagaland ATMA Tseminyu conducts exposure visit of farmers

DIMAPUR

ATMA Tseminyu organised farmer’s exposure visit on the October 23, where a team of 19 farmers accompanied by one ATMA official visited “banana festival”, at Wokha.
A press release by ATMA Tseminyu stated that the team attended the technical session on the topic “advance post-harvest management, processing and value addition technologies for circular economy in banana”, with resource person principal scientist, ICAR, NRCB, Dr. KN Shiva, who delivered a thorough explanation on the importance of banana, and various post-harvest management, along with value added products that could be produced using the fruit, stem and leave.
The farmers also visited various stalls and gained knowledgeable experience where learnt about various varieties of banana and the banana fibre extraction and use of the fibre in making bags, basket etc.
