Atuo Tevo from Kidima village defended his title at the 64th Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) Wrestling Meet 2026 (Senior Category), held at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, after an impressive display throughout the competition.
Atuo defeated Neithongulie Kuotsu in the final bout to emerge as champion.
Atuo received a total cash prize of Rs 80,000 along with a special award comprising a plot of land measuring 100 x 100 square feet at Chümoukedima, sponsored by Tepuleho Pusa and family.
Neithongulie Kuotsu, 28, from Phesama village, secured second position and walked away with a cash prize of Rs 60,000.
Third position was claimed by Kekhrie Yhoshü, 30, from Kigwema village, Rs 40,000 while Ketoulhou Mejura, 29, from Phesama village, finished fourth and received Rs 20,000.
The losing quarterfinalists in the senior category were awarded Rs 5,000 each.
In the Under-15 category, Rokokheto Ziitso, from Kigwema village, emerged champion and received a cash prize of Rs 20,000.
Second position went to Kezhalhoulie Seletsu, Pfuchama village, who was awarded Rs.15,000.
Theja Kipfhe from Phesama village, and Azhovi Rülu from Mima village, finished third and fourth respectively, receiving Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000. The losing quarterfinalists in the Under-15 category received Rs 2,000 each.
A total of 45 wrestlers competed in the senior category, while 12 wrestlers took part in the junior (Under-15) category at the meet.
