DIMAPUR, NOV 19 (NPN)

Nagaland chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and the officials of Austria and Malta have announced the country partnerships for the forthcoming Hornbill Festival 2025.
According to a DIPR report, the announcements were made in New Delhi following meetings between the officials of two countries. The high commissioner of Malta to India, Reuben Gauci, at his meeting with the chief minister, appreciated Government of Nagaland for the partnership.
Gauci said that Malta looked forward to participating in the event and expressed hope that the platform would strengthen ties, enhance people-to-people contact, and pave the way for future collaborations.
Dr. Gisela Kristoferitsch, deputy head of mission at the Austrian Embassy, stated that Austria would be represented by trade delegations. Dr. Gisela said that avenues for collaborations and partnerships would be explored during their participation in the various events of the festival.
State chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio said “It is a pleasure and an honour to welcome Malta and Austria as Country Partners for the Hornbill Festival.” He said that both nations carry with them rich histories, vibrant cultures, and remarkable strengths in art, heritage, creativity, and innovation. “Their participation adds immense value to Nagaland’s celebrations as the Land of Festivals,” Rio added.
Further, the chief minister said that the state looked forward to meaningful collaborations that would deepen people-to-people connections, strengthen cultural and creative-economy exchanges, and open new avenues for partnership across sectors.
Welcoming Malta and Austria to Nagaland, the chief minister expressed confidence that the association would bring mutual benefits and lasting friendships. Apart from its cultural festivities, the Hornbill Festival would also feature business roundtables, networking workshops, and investment opportunities.
