Nagaland: Awareness on drug abuseheld at Jakhama OST centre

DIMAPUR

The OST centre, Jakhama, organised a one-day awareness programme highlighting the growing menace of drug abuse among youth.
Addressing the students, Medical Officer Dr. Keneilhoulie Medom expressed concern over the alarming rise of addiction among adolescents. He cautioned that drug peddlers often employ manipulative tactics to target school and college students, exploiting their vulnerability and gradually pulling them into addiction.
Dr. Medom noted that many young people struggling with substance abuse remain silent out of fear, which worsens their condition. Offering hope, he informed that Opioid Substitute Therapy (OST) services are available at Jakhama PHC, providing individuals caught in the cycle of addiction an opportunity to seek help and rebuild their lives.
