An awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was held at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Auditorium, Tening, Peren on October 29, 2025, with the theme “Drugs and Substance Abuse.”
According to DIPR report, the initiative aimed to sensitise students on the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among youth.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tening, Fiirhesie Nyuwi, who graced the occasion as the resource person, delivered an insightful address highlighting the need for collective responsibility in combating drug abuse. He urged students to become ambassadors of change by making informed life choices and encouraging their peers to stay away from harmful substances.
As part of the campaign, various competitions were organised including prepared speech, drawing, slogan writing and essay writing. Winners in each category were awarded attractive prizes in recognition of their efforts.
The programme concluded with the declaration of results and prize distribution, followed by light refreshments, marking a successful observance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan at GHSS Tening.
