Nagaland: Awareness prog on juvenile cases and POSCO Act held at Zuheshe

DIMAPUR

The district administration and the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Niuland in collaboration with the home department organized a crucial awareness programme on juvenile cases and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act at Government High School (GHS), Zuheshe on 11th February 2026. The awarenesss progarmme was held under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative
According to DIPR report, the programme began with invocation by Merryka Sumi, accounts assistant, DHEW, and a short speech by Kelengunuo Solo, EAC Niuland, highlighting the importance of such initiatives.
In her keynote address, Tsukhumla UBSI from Women Police Station, Dimapur shed light on the significance of the POSCO Act and the handling of juvenile cases.
This was followed by an interactive session where students actively participated, sharing their thoughts and queries on the topic.
The programme aimed to raise awareness among students and community members about the laws protecting children and the consequences of violating them.
V Vily Chophy, DMC DHEW expressed gratitude to all the participants while proposing the vote of thanks.
